About Government Polytechnic, Pune

Established in 1957 under the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra, Government Polytechnic, Pune (GPPune) offers three-year Post-SSC Diploma programmes across a wide range of engineering and design disciplines, including:

Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Metallurgical Engineering
Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
Computer Engineering
Information Technology
Dress Designing & Garment Manufacturing

All programmes are approved by AICTE and are equivalent to those offered by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE), Mumbai, ensuring strong academic quality and industry relevance.

Academic Autonomy (Since 1994)

The Curriculum Development Cell (CDC) plays a central role in designing and maintaining an industry-aligned, outcome-based curriculum. Curriculum Development Approach

2. Competency-Based Curriculum Design

Each curriculum is mapped with well-defined Course Outcomes (COs) and aligned with programme outcomes to promote structured and measurable learning.

3. Multi-Level Validation

Draft curricula undergo rigorous review and approval through:

Board of Studies (BoS)

120NEP Curriculum Framework

Introduced from the academic year 2023–24, the 12ONEP curriculum is aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and integrates modern industry practices and emerging technologies.
