Six-Month Duration Internship

Government Polytechnic, Pune has included a Six-Month Duration Internship in its curricula of all Diploma Programs which are revised and implemented from Academic Year 2023-24. The internship will be generally offered in last i.e. sixth semester of the program which generally commences in third week of December and ends in third week of June every year. The first batch of interns in this scheme of curriculum will be available for the placements in the industries from 15^th Dec. 2025 to 15^th June 2026. This is in alignment with the recommendations in National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020).

This initiative will enable the students to gain crucial industry experience, improve their technical knowledge and skills and prepare them for professional careers. This will help the industries to get some of their work / a few tasks completed by the students during the period of internships. Some of the industries may also use this period of internship as an opportunity to assess a few students as their prospective employees.

In this context, the industries are requested to see the webpages of respective departments for the detailed curriculum of the program/s and the further details of internship scheme and then contact the respective Head of the Departments for timelines for interviews / selections of the prospective interns.
