In-plant Training / Summer Internship

In-plant training of six weeks’ duration is mandatory for all the students admitted in 180 OB curriculum of all the diploma programs offered in the institute. It is a six-credit course. It is offered to all the eligible students in the summer vacation between second year and third year.

1. Methodology adopted by the institute
1. The students are allocated a departmental mentor teacher to guide them during the six weeks.
2. The students are provided names of industries available with the institute, which can provide the in-plant training of six weeks duration. However, if the student wishes to undertake the training in her/his choice of industry, the student has to provide the requisite details to the respective mentor teacher, which will be approved in the departmental meeting.
3. The necessary request letter for the industry, from the institute is provided to the student.
4. The industry is expected to provide an industry mentor for the student/s undertaking the in-plant training.
5. The students are expected to maintain a daily diary of the activities done; tasks completed during the duration of the training.
6. The students need to submit a report of the training to the mentor teacher, which may also be certified by the concerned industry mentor.
7. The evaluation of the students is completed immediately after the completion of the training by the mentor teacher and the industry mentor.
